Whisky is an open-source software developed by Isaac Marovitz that offers the ability to run apps and games designed for Microsoft Windows operating system on Mac with Apple Silicon CPU. It is a graphic wrapper that provides a compatibility layer between Windows APIs and macOS, without being a traditional emulator.
The Whisky installation and use process is relatively simple. After the download and installation of the application, any necessary dependencies are verified and downloaded. Subsequently, you can create a “bottle”, i.e. a runtime environment for the desired software, specifying the name of the game, the required Windows version and the file storage path.

Once the bottle is created, you can install the games both from external CD/DVD and using ISO image files. Once installed, games can be started easily with a click, allowing users to enjoy a wide range of titles on macOS platforms with Apple Silicon chips.
Whisky has been successfully tested on several games, including older and newer games, offering a smooth gaming experience for most titles. It is free and offers a convenient solution for video game enthusiasts who want to play on Mac with Apple Silicon.
